![]() ![]() ![]() Maybe one of you knows a b etter tool for altering FITS-headers? I tried it and it works: added as second last line (above END) the CTYPE3 = 'RGB' keyword and Aladin is showing a debayerd image then and no "animation". I downloaded that NASA Fv tool and used it. You can do that with any FITS tools such as NASA fv tool. The answer to your query is described in details in the Aladin FAQ 4.19 => īriefly, you need to add the FITS keyword CTYPE3 = 'RGB ' to specify to Aladin that your cube (your image is in fact a cube) must be displayed as a color composition rather a cube. Had some mail communication with the Aladin makers. #Aladin astronomy zip fileIf it's not working or my description is not clear: I did attach a ZIP file containing that BAT file I made and use. Since I use that, I have almost no problems anymore with Aladin chewing on data Two windows will open: a DOS window (not important) and Aladin itself.Īnd that's it. Now just click that BAT file as you would open any other program. Now change the TXT extension to BAT (Windows will complain of course but just say Yes).If you want it to use a maximum of 2 Gb, use 2. In this case the number 4 means that Aladin can use a maximum of 4 Gb RAM. Open the text document and place this line in it: Java -Xmx4g -jar Aladin.exe.Right click and make a new text document (TXT).Go to the directory where Aladin is placed.I use this without any problems on my Windows 10 Pro system. So did some searching and here an easy way to allocate more RAM to Aladin. I did know that Aladin uses a maximum of 1 Gb RAM (visible in the lower right corner) and noticed that with (down)loading NED, it gave an error when it came close to 900 Mb. Loading and using the standard Simbad plane doesn't give a problem.īut with bigger databases like NED, a lot of times there would be an error or, when loaded, it really would be slower. Lately I am using and experimenting a lot more with Aladin, in my case the Windows desktop version. ![]()
